Kathy McPherson PT, DPT, CEAS is a Physical Therapist, member of the USFSA, Colonial FSC, and the Professional Skaters' Association. She has been practicing physical therapy in Massachusetts since 2002. A physical therapy background assures a comprehensive knowledge of the human body and injury prevention. Mrs. McPherson received her Masters in Physical Therapy degree from Northeastern University and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Simmons College. She is a current member of the American Physical Therapy Association.
Kathy has been a figure skater since she was 5 years old and continues to skate as an adult. She practices physical therapy at the Nashoba Valley Olympia rink every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday afternoons. Her services include: physical therapy evaluations, strength and conditioning classes every week, re-evaluations to track the skater's progress, and kinesio sports taping. Fall of 2009, she expanded her services to the Skating Club of Andover on Saturday mornings.
All skaters who choose to take participate in the strength classes must have an evaluation performed.
